WASHINGTON - At long last, movie fans can get a glimpse of what promises to be a blockbuster this fall.

The official full trailer for "Lincoln" was finally released on Thursday, showing the first footage of Steven Spielberg's new project and a taste of the performances from Sally Field, Tommy Lee Jones, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Daniel Day-Lewis as the title character.

The film will open in some theaters on Nov. 9 and to all on Nov. 16. It was filmed in Virginia, employing a crew and staff of more than 400 from that state as well as 1,200 actors and extras, The Associated Press reports.

The economic impact for Richmond and Petersburg, where filming took place, exceeded $64 million, according to the Virginia Film Office.

Richmond - ironically also the capital of the Confederacy - served as the backdrop for a Civil War-era Washington in the film. The Virginia Capitol Building was converted for a few weeks in October during filming to be more in keeping with how the nation's Capitol Building looked in the 1860s. This included leaving the grass unmowed to give it a more natural appearance.
