    Yep. 35 years
People are always talking about whether we should or should not go to war against terrorists.

What they refuse to understand is that we are already at war, and have been for decades. Terrorist groups have declared war on us, and attack us all the time. The fact that the US rarely acknowledges this war, and even more rarely tries to fight back doesn't change the fact that we have an enemy that thinks it is at war with us and strikes as often as possible.

Carter proved that Democrats won't fight back by allowing Iranian terrorists to hold Americans hostage in our embassy. Reagan proved that Republicans will negotiate with terrorists (Iran-Contra) and will run away from real violence (when the Marine barracks were bombed.) Bush was the only president to actually pick up the gauntlet and fight back (despite the fact that half the country and most of the rest of the world hated him for it), and now that he's gone, we're back to surrender, negotiation and cowardice.
