WASHINGTON - For the past three years, the Washington Animal Rescue League has hosted Catapalooza, a cat adoption event where the fees are busted down to $2.

The adoption agency served cake and mimosas to set the mood for the Valentine's adoptions.

By 3:30 p.m. Sunday, 27 cats had been adopted and others had adoptions pending.

One young couple found out they were out of luck for the day. All the kitties had been adopted.
