WASHINGTON (AP) - D.C. Council Chair Linda Cropp is vowing to include all the city's residents in its revitalization if elected mayor.

Speaking to the media and supporters after filing campaign documents Wednesday morning, Cropp promised better schools, safer streets and more affordable housing. Cropp says she'll champion residents left behind by Washington's economic boom.

About 100 supporters accompanied Cropp up U Street on her way to file the paperwork.

Cropp joins Council members Adrian Fenty and Vincent Orange and businesswoman Marie Johns in seeking the Democratic nomination.

Mayor Tony Williams has not announced whether he'll seek a third term. Williams says he's still waiting for the "right time" to announce whether he'll run. He says he's indicated he'll do it this fall, and says "fall is now underway."

The Democratic primary is still a year away.
