JOB TITLE: Newsroom Technician

SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday, 3-11 a.m.
STATUS: Full Time, Non-Exempt

POSITION SUMMARY:

Work with the news department recording, editing and inputting audio material from a
variety of sources under deadline pressure.

DUTIES:

  • Record audio material from a variety of sources and prepare it for broadcast.
  • Assist reporters and other field employees to obtain the best possible sound
    quality in their feeds.
  • Operate a radio mixing console and related on-air equipment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience preferred.
  • Ability to operate broadcast consoles.
  • Project an appropriate professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Ability to work in compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Ability to function in a team environment.
  • Ability to work established schedule and other hours as needed.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS OF POSITION:

  • Ability to communicate in English both verbally and in writing.
  • Manual dexterity and fine motor skills to manipulate computer keys and general
    office equipment (telephone, copier, calculator, etc.) for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to hear and speak clearly, and follow both oral and written direction.
