JOB TITLE: Newsroom Technician

SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday, 3-11 a.m.
STATUS: Full Time, Non-Exempt
POSITION SUMMARY:
Work with the news department recording, editing and inputting audio material from a
variety of sources under deadline pressure.
DUTIES:
- Record audio material from a variety of sources and prepare it for broadcast.
- Assist reporters and other field employees to obtain the best possible sound
quality in their feeds. - Operate a radio mixing console and related on-air equipment.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience preferred.
- Ability to operate broadcast consoles.
- Project an appropriate professional appearance and demeanor.
- Ability to work in compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Ability to function in a team environment.
- Ability to work established schedule and other hours as needed.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS OF POSITION:
- Ability to communicate in English both verbally and in writing.
- Manual dexterity and fine motor skills to manipulate computer keys and general
office equipment (telephone, copier, calculator, etc.) for extended periods of time. - Ability to hear and speak clearly, and follow both oral and written direction.
