WTOP – Washington Caps, Good Morning, Good Afternoon, Goodnight
OFFICIAL RULES
1. HOW TO ENTER: NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. In order to enter, listeners must listen to WTOP Radio Monday through Friday March 4-8, 2013 in the 6 am, 12 pm and 6 p.m. hours. Each day during those hours we will reveal a “Caps Keyword” for that hour. Upon hearing it, listeners must text the keyword that was announced during that hour to the mobile short code 91035. WTOP is not responsible for problems with their phones, texting, technical or atmospheric conditions that disrupt the completion of the entry, or any other problems which might or might not result from this contest. The keyword will not be repeated or available at any other time other than when broadcast during the hours noted above. Listeners may enter one time for each keyword or a total of 15 times for the week.
2. HOW TO PLAY/HOW THE WINNER IS CHOSEN: Enter as explained in Paragraph 1 above. One grand prize winner and three runners-up will be randomly drawn from all entries at the completion of the campaign.
3. PRIZE: One (1) grand prize winner will get a “good morning, good afternoon, good night” caps experience consisting of a pre-game penalty box experience, the chance to ride the Zamboni, two tickets to the game, and a chance to join the postgame coverage on Tuesday March 26 at the Verizon center. Prize value is approximately $500.00. Three (3) runners up will each win a Capitals hockey puck. Value approximately $100.00.
A qualified winner must also meet the eligibility requirements as set forth in Paragraph 5 of these rules. The winners are responsible for paying all applicable income taxes. A 1099 form may be submitted to all appropriate taxing authorities. 4. CLAIMING A PRIZE: Grand prize winner prizes will be redeemed at the Verizon Center March 26. Runners-up prizes will be sent via Federal Express within 2 weeks of the winners’ names being drawn. Winners will also be given the choice of picking up the prize within 2 weeks. Prize pick up would be available Monday through Friday 9 am to 4 pm at WTOP Studios at 3400 Idaho Avenue NW Washington, D.C. WTOP is not responsible for delay, loss or damage due to US Postal Service or Federal Express. Unclaimed prizes become property of WTOP.
5. ELIGIBILITY: Individuals must be 18 years or older, must live within the WTOP listening range. In order to be eligible to win a prize in this contest, you cannot have won any prize from WTOP within the last 60 days. Employees of Hubbard Radio Washington, LLC, Hubbard Radio, LLC, WTOP and Monumental Sports and Entertainment, or other radio stations in WTOP’s DMA, or any of their subsidiaries, and their immediate families, are not eligible to enter. Anyone participating in this contest or claiming a prize in this contest in violation of these rules will be disqualified from winning a prize in this contest and from participating in WTOP contests for a period of one year.
By entering this contest, each entrant agrees to receive text news alerts from WTOP only. Names, numbers and email addresses will not be shared with third party vendors
6. RELEASE; CONSENT TO USE LIKENESS, VOICE AND ADDRESS: The winner must execute an affidavit of eligibility. The winner (a) agrees to release Hubbard Radio, LLC, Hubbard Radio Washington, LLC, Hubbard Broadcasting, Inc., WTOP and Potomac Garage Solutions (including their subsidiaries, affiliates, parent or related companies) from any and all liability, claims, damages and actions arising directly or indirectly out of or sustained in connection with the awarding or acceptance of the prize(s), and/or misuse of any prize, or to participation in the contest or in prize-related activities, including any travel related thereto, and (b) consents to the use by WTOP for promotional purposes, of his or her likeness, voice (and/or address (city/state) without any additional compensation. By participating in this contest, each participant agrees to the application of these official rules.
7. WINNER LIST: For the names of winners, send a self-addressed, stamped envelope before March 15, 2013 to: Caps Good Night Contest, WTOP, 3400 Idaho Avenue N.W., Washington, D. C. 20016.
8. MISCELLANEOUS:
Decisions of WTOP concerning any and all matters with respect to this contest shall be final. Contest void where prohibited or otherwise restricted by law. WTOP reserves the right to change the prize values at any time. WTOP is not responsible for printing errors in the contest materials or these rules.
