Barricade situation over after D.C. police chase

WASHINGTON – Two police officers suffered minor injuries after a chase in D.C. that led to a barricade situation.

Police reportedly chased a car that sped off during a traffic stop at North Capitol and Gallatin streets at about 2 p.m. The fleeing car hit a police cruiser, and two officers involved suffered minor injuries.

A suspect behind the wheel of the fleeing car then fled and went inside a home on Gallatin Street NW. There were 12 people inside the house, including the suspect and six minors. No one inside was injured, and the suspect is in police custody.

Police said there was no threat to the neighborhood.
