Police find man dead after Beltsville residents report gunfire

BELTSVILLE, Md. - Beltsville police found a man who was shot early Tuesday morning after local residents reported hearing gunfire.

The 911 call came from a home in the 4600 block of Garret Avenue around 12:30 a.m.

When police arrived, they found one man dead of an apparent gunshot wound.

Prince George's County Police say there were several people inside when it happened.

At first it was thought to be a home invasion, but investigators are interviewing several witnesses to see any relationship between the shooter and the victim.

Police have not issued a lookout for anyone.
