FREEZE WARNING in effect from midnight through noon Wednesday for all areas east of the Blue Ridge Mountains

Some of the coldest air we ever see during mid-April is poised to move into the region later tonight after the cold front crosses the area. Under clearing skies, gusty winds will deliver the leading edge of a late season, Arctic Air Mass. The potential exists for temperatures in many suburban locations to fall into the middle to upper 20s and near 32 degrees in downtown Washington.

The National Weather Service has placed our entire area under FREEZE WARNINGS from midnight tonight through noon tomorrow. Tomorrow will be sunny and breezy but temperatures will have a hard time rising much above 50 degrees. High pressure will dominate the weather pattern through the Easter Weekend with a slow but steady warm-up under partly to occasionally mostly sunny skies.
