Attention D.C. panda lovers: The panda cam is coming back!

WASHINGTON — The news the D.C. region has been waiting for is here: The National Zoo’s panda cam is coming back!

That is, as long as Congress gets its act together Wednesday night and ends the shutdown.

Politico reports the popular webcam will be back in action by mid-Thursday if Congress votes to reopen the government on Wednesday night.

The panda cam will open before its counterpart — the actual zoo. If the shutdown ends Wednesday night, the National Zoo plans to reopen its doors on Friday. The other Smithsonian museums would open at 10 a.m. on Thursday, reports Politico.

The panda cam is a 24-hour camera that captures the zoo’s baby panda cub and mom for all panda lovers.

Can you imagine how much this baby girl has grown in the the last two weeks?
