Watch Wallops Island test rocket launch live (VIDEO)

WASHINGTON – After two delays in three days, a company contracted by NASA to deliver supplies to the International Space Station is preparing to launch a test rock from NASA’s Wallops Island Flight Facility along the eastern shore of Virginia.

High winds forced the cancellation of the launch of the unmanned Antares rocket planned for Saturday from Wallops Island on Virginia’s Eastern Shore. Dulles-based Orbital Sciences Corp. plans to try again Sunday at 5 p.m.

The planned launch is designed to test whether a practice payload could reach orbit and safely separate from the rocket.

Orbital is one of two companies contracted to supply the space station by NASA, which ended its shuttle program in 2011. California-based SpaceX completed its third supply run to the station last month.

Watch the rocket launch live from Wallops Island, Va. The launch is scheduled for 5 p.m. Sunday. and NASA TV coverage is set to start at 4:30 p.m.
