WTOP is adding tweets of some of the gnomes found to its Jayson Werth Garden Gnomes gallery. You can submit gnome photos to the gallery, too.
WASHINGTON — Finders keepers, losers weepers. One hundred Jayson Werth garden gnomes are hidden around the region as part of a Washington Nationals scavenger hunt.
Six of the figurines are signed by Werth.
“For the fans that find these special gnomes, we’re also going to provide them with two tickets to Saturday night’s postseason game at Nationals Park,” says Washington Nationals Chief Revenue and Marketing Officer Valerie Camillo.
The scavenger hunt search area includes Maryland, Virginia and the District of Columbia.
The diminutive statues of the 6-foot-five right fielder are small enough to fit into any number of nooks and crannies, but the team hasn’t specified the degree to which the garden gnomes are hidden or whether they’re in plain sight.
Camillo encourages winners to tweet photos using #WerthGoesGnome and @Nationals. And don’t forget #WTOP.
Here are some of the gnomes that have been tweeted. WTOP has more tweets in the its user-submitted gallery to the right:
