Video of fight on Baltimore MTA train prompting investigation

WASHINGTON – Baltimore transit police are investigating a fight on a city train where a man was nearly thrown off while the train was moving.

The video of the fight posted by a witness last Saturday on Facebook has prompted a Metropolitan Transit Administration police investigation.

At one point in the video, the two younger men try to jar open the doors of the moving train, as if to push the older man off.

MTA Police are reviewing the video for more information, but know the train makes a stop at the Mondawmin station.

No one in the fight or on the train at the time has come forward, says Paul Shepard with MTA.

“We know obviously from the video there were people there and we’re asking for the public’s help in finding who did this,” Shepard says.

He says the investigation will go on regardless of the public’s input. They are hoping witnesses with any information call 410-454-7720.

“Investigators don’t stop just because you don’t get public cooperation. But public cooperation will help us in terms of getting to who did this in a quicker more rapid fashion,” he says.
