Stephen F Austin cruises past Weber State, 35-20

NACOGDOCHES, Texas (AP) — Gus Johnson rushed for 83 yards on 12 carries with two touchdowns, quarterback Zach Conque added two more scores on the ground, and Stephen F Austin beat Weber State 35-20 on Saturday.

Conque also threw for 264 yards for Stephen F Austin, who racked up 466 yards of total offense.

The Lumberjacks (3-1) never trailed in game, scoring the first three touchdowns of the game to open up a 21-point lead before back-to-back Billy Green touchdown passes pulled Weber State (0-4) within eight. However consecutive Lumberjack touchdown drives to begin the fourth, highlighted by Johnson’s 26-yard run, pushed the game out of reach.

Green went 30 of 49 for 273 yards passing and three touchdowns. Zach Smith added 147 yards on the ground, and Shaydon Kehano had 12 receptions for 122 yards and two touchdowns.

Each team was plagued by penalties, combining for a total of 247 penalty yards.
