Bailey, Hampton defeat D-II Miles 34-30

HAMPTON, Va. (AP) — Bryan Bailey had 267 yards passing and threw two of his three touchdown passes in the fourth quarter to push Hampton past Division II Miles College 34-30 Saturday night.

With the score tied at 17, Bailey found SeQuan Gooding for an 18-yard score, capping a 6-play, 67-yard drive. Charles Owens then forced a Jamarcus Hill fumble and Gregory Ham recovered it at the 25. Bailey connected with Rashawn Proctor on the next play to put Hampton (1-3) up 14.

Demetric Price responded with a 25-yard touchdown pass to Antonio Pitts. The Golden Bears’ following drive stalled on downs and Anthony Prevost kicked a 29-yard field goal to extend the Pirates’ lead to 10 with 1:24 left.

Jorrian Washington had 92 yards on 14 carries for Hampton.

Price threw an 11-yard touchdown to Michael Ross with 2 seconds left to finish with 289 yards, three scores and an interception.
