Whoa, wait a minute! With the arrival of meteorological fall, Mother Nature appears to be having second thoughts about cooler September temperatures. A few showers and thunderstorms will dot radar overnight, but won't amount to much. Areas of fog may develop by early morning. Lows will slowly drift downward into the 70s.
Four days at 90 degrees or better? It has yet to happen this year, but that my change by Wednesday! Click here for all the details.
Some call the day after Labor Day ”Terrible Tuesday” – I’ll call it a very uncomfortable day to work outside or to be stuck in a building without air conditioning. With highs in the lower to middle 90s and off the chart dew points, the heat index will easily jump to the upper 90s – even hotter downtown with all the concrete. A relatively weak cold front is set to move across the mid-Atlantic late Tuesday allowing for a drier air mass Wednesday and Thursday, it stays hot – upper 80s to near 90 degrees for afternoon temperatures.
