A Potomac Falls High School instructional assistant was arrested over the weekend and charged with providing alcohol to a group of teenagers at a house party.
Jennifer Rose Allen, 24, of Sterling, is charged with 13 counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor, one count of purchase of alcohol for an underage person and drunk in public.
Loudoun Sheriff’s deputies responded to a home in the 20800 block of Canberra Drive in Sterling shortly before 11 p.m. March 14 for a report of an unsupervised juvenile party. Inside the home were 17 high school-age teenagers and two adults.
Deputies initially charged Allen and a second adult, Steven M. Rodney, 19, of Sterling, with being drunk in public. Rodney also was charged with underage possession of alcohol.
Following an investigation, police believe Allen bought alcohol for the teenagers. She was further charged March 15 with 13 counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor and one count of purchase of alcohol for an underage person.
Allen was released on an $11,000 unsecured bond.
According to LCPS spokesman Wayde Byard, Allen was hired for the position Feb. 1, so she was still under the 60-day probationary period in her contract.
While he would not comment on specific action LCPS has taken in this case, Byard did say that within the 60-day probationary period, employees can be terminated without cause.
