WASHINGTON – Shark diving is a dangerous endeavor even in the safest of circumstances.
But what happens when a great white ignores his bait and goes after curious humans instead?
Two divers found out the hard way while diving off South Africa’s western cape, reports TIME magazine. They were observing sharks from behind the apparent safety of a cage when a shark smashed its head into the cage.
The daredevils were able to duck under the shark’s mouth and avoid a deadly bite as onlookers watched helplessly from the boat.
One of the divers reportedly had gotten married the day before the incident.
