From airport flirting to online connection

WASHINGTON – When love is in the air, it doesn’t have to be lost on the ground.

A new website helps airline passengers reconnect after those mile-high flirtations.

Wemetonaplane.com allows users to enter their flight information and tell the story of that special someone, even if it was a single nervous glance during turbulence.

On the site, users can punch in their flight data and write a post about that “fling” in the air.

The site pulls up any relevant stories from the same flight to see if there was a match.

Stories can also be shared via Facebook and Twitter

Users can vote on their favorite ‘the one that got away” story on the site.

The current top vote-getter is a story about star-crossed love on a flight from Kuala Lumpur to Sydney.

As it turns out, it’s the story of how site creator, Will Scully-Power met his girlfriend, Maia.

The 31-year-old Australian Internet entrepreneur says he came up with the idea after meeting Maia in 2011.
