Potty-mouthed dolls stir controversy for Toys R Us

WASHINGTON – These cute baby dolls were designed to interact with each other, giggling and babbling baby talk. Unfortunately, one of them may have a potty mouth.

Retail Digital reports one of the dolls in the You & Me Interactive Play and Giggle Triplet dolls appears to say the “F” word and “crazy b****.”

“We would never carry a doll that said a profanity of any kind,” says Jennifer Albano, spokesperson for Toy R Us. “As with many talking baby dolls, what you’re hearing is baby babble.”

The dolls are available at Toys R Us for $39.99.

Retail Digital reports that concerned parents have complained to Toys R Us about the dolls and are asking the dolls be pulled from the stores’ shelves.

Albano says the store has no plans to pull the dolls, which became available earlier this year.

A quick search on the Toys R Us website only pulled up the African American and Asian triplet dolls. An accompanying review to the African American dolls notes that after hearing the profanity, the customer brought the dolls back to the store for a refund.

The same dolls are also being offered on Amazon for inflated prices ranging from $79.99 to $99.99. Reviews on Amazon also note that dolls appear to be swearing.
