The day ahead will mimic what we had yesterday, with more clouds than sunshine and the risk of a few showers, maybe a thunderstorm. The best shot of rain will once again be west of DC, with an earlier round of showers possible by lunch time west of the I-81 corridor. Shower chances get closer to the metro region later in the afternoon. The clouds will keep temperatures in the mid 80s but the humidity will make it feel warmer. The unsettled weather will persist through the end of a week as a new disturbance dives southeastward from the Great Lakes, igniting another round of showers and storms for tomorrow. Yet another piece of energy could bring some rain later Friday into Saturday before a drier pattern emerges. Temperatures will be cooler later in the week. Until then, any rain we receive will add to our yearly rainfall surplus, which is over seven-and-a-half inches at Reagan National Airport. Have a great day!
