Happy Halloween!!!! And yes, we have a few tricks in this forecast.  First, let's start with the good news: while temperatures will only top out around 60 degrees today we will get a mix of sun and clouds. Most of the day (if not all) will be dry. We only have a slight chance of showers late in the evening (after 8pm) around I-81 and west. Temperatures by sunset (which is at 6:09pm) will be in the lower to mid 50s with light winds and mostly cloudy skies.
Overnight, chances of showers increase in the west as an area of low pressure dives out of the Great Lakes region headed towards West Virginia area. That area of low pressure will continue to transfer its energy off the coast of NC through Saturday. Spotty morning rain showers on Saturday across the region could lead to more steady light rain showers on Saturday afternoon as that low treks up the eastern seaboard. One thing we know for sure is that the winds will continue to increase in speed after 10AM on Saturday and continue with gusts up to 30+ by the evening. Temperatures under gray skies on Saturday will reach to around 50 degrees, but the wind will make it feel even colder, especially during the evening and overnight hours. While the light rain ends on Saturday night, winds persist through Sunday. Temperatures on Sunday will only top out in the upper 40s despite the sunshine, however, the wind will make it feel like 30s at times. Winds will calm in the late evening hours on Sunday. By Monday, temperatures move back into the 50s with sunshine and by Wednesday, we top back out in the mid 60s with rain chances increasing Wednesday night into Thursday.
