WASHINGTON — A Southeast D.C. street has reopened after a crash caused
delays for Monday morning commuters and has more than 100 Pepco customers
still
in the dark.
South Capitol Street reopened between Livingston Road and Galveston Street at
about 9 a.m. after a crash caused a nearly three-hour closure. A taxi ran into
a
utility pole at about 6 a.m. causing debris to block the roadway.
The downed utility pole led to outages in the area. There are more than 100
Pepco customers without power as of 9 a.m.
Pepco says power will be restored by 3 p.m.
Fire crews extinguished a fire on the scene following the crash.
