Help Metro test a new fare system

WASHINGTON — Starting in January Metro will test its next-generation fare
system.

The transit agency asking for your help in doing so.

Participants in a pilot program will help try out new payment methods, including
the use of smartphones at 10 Metrorail stations and on six bus routes.

If the pilot program is successful, Metro plans to replace its now decades-old
faregates and vending machines.
