Maryland to train workers for planned Red, Purple line projects

Maryland’s transit department and labor agency are teaming to find and train construction workers for the planned multibillion-dollar Red and Purple line projects, the Baltimore Business Journal reported.

The training will focus in jobs for heavy equipment operators, electricians, cement and brickmasons, carpenters and ironworkers.

The state’s Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation will partner with labor unions, local workforce development agencies, contractors and community organizations to find and train candidates in those fields.
