Dulles Toll Rd. tolls expected to climb to $8

WASHINGTON – If you drive the Dulles Toll Road, you may not have to pay as much as had been projected.

The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority predicted that by 2019 tolls would increase to as much as $21.50 round-trip.

Now, officials say it should only climb to about $8.

The rates would not go up as much as projected thanks to a new funding agreement where state and federal governments will contribute more money to the project, while cutting $1 billion from the project’s second phase, The Examiner reports.
