Brunswick native finishes third in Oprah karaoke contest

Brunswick native Robert Weddle was named third runner-up today on the final round of a karaoke competition on "The Oprah Winfrey Show."

Abraham McDonald, of Los Angeles, Calif., won the challenge by performing "Get Here," Oprah's website states.

McDonald will win $250,000 and a chance to record a song with music producer L.A. Reid's label, Island Def Jam Music Group.

Weddle, 31, now lives in Orlando, Fla. He sang "Peace of Mind" in the final round.
