O.C. Busts Prostitutes Who Advertised on 'Net

October 19, 2007 - 10:39am
OCEAN CITY, Md. - Ocean City police say prostitutes are using the Internet to advertise their services in the resort.

"I guess we were surprised at how brazen it was -- how out in the open it was," Ocean City Police spokesman Barry Neeb tells a Salisbury TV station.

Neeb says Jaclyn Hallman, 22, of Laurel and Theresa Amoroso of Narberth, Pa., posted advertisements on unidentified Web sites. In the ads, they offered erotic services.

The women are the first alleged prostitutes arrested in Ocean City this year. Neeb says a concerned resident called the department to report the ads.

According to Neeb, investigators looked at the ads then set up a meeting at a local hotel.

Amoroso told police she made three trips to Ocean City during the summer, making at least $5,000. Hallman allegedly told police she made $350 in each of 10 appointments at area hotels.
