WASHINGTON - Are local residents too ambitious about renting out their homes for the inauguration?

Many asking up to $30,000 a week are finding no takers.

Only 5 percent of the 550 listings on InauguralHomes.com have been snatched up. A number of postings remain on craigslist.org.

Now residents desperate to earn some extra cash are lowering their asking prices and throwing in extras, such as airport pickup and maid service.

Politico reports interest may pick up once tickets are distributed early next month.
