Police Break Up Brothel in Georgetown

WASHINGTON -- Complaints from citizens about Venus Spa led to an undercover operation the broke up a brothel in Georgetown, Metropolitan Police say.

Neighbors say they have long suspected that the business was a brothel.

Three women arrested Thursday afternoon at the business at 2352 Wisconsin Ave. are scheduled to be arraigned Friday in D.C. Superior Court.

Police charged Sun Pyong, 59, of New Jersey with operating a house of prostitution. They charged 35-year-old Lian Shu Cui of Virginia with solicitation for lewd and immoral purposes. Son Bongsok of Virginia, 45, faces charges of giving a mMassage without a license.

According to a news release from the police, when members of the Metropolitan Police Department's Prostitution Enforcement Unit arrested the three, representatives from the D.C. Department of Consumer and Regulatory Affairs also were on the premises.
