Foxhall Road, Bridge Work This Weekend

November 18, 2007 - 10:46am
WASHINGTON -- As you get out to run errands on this weekend before Thanksgiving or you leave early for your Thanksgiving destination, you'll want to be aware that some D.C. streets will be closed.

D.C. Department of Transportation road crews plan to work on several streets this weekend.

Frederick Douglass/South Capitol Street Bridge

The work will not require full closures in either direction, but drivers should be aware of the following closures:

  • Two inbound lanes on the bridge will be closed to traffic from 7 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 17 until 5 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 18.
  • One outbound lane on the bridge will be closed to traffic from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 17 and Sunday, Nov. 18.

The inbound sidewalks will now also be open to pedestrian and bicycle traffic. Crews will be working on outbound sidewalks until the work is completed in early 2008.
