* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR—

THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA—

CENTRAL PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY IN CENTRAL MARYLAND—

* UNTIL 145 PM EDT

* AT 1038 AM EDT—NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED VERY HEAVY RAIN CAPABLE OF PRODUCING FLASH FLOODING. RADAR ESTIMATES THAT UP TO 1 INCH OF RAIN HAVE ALREADY FALLEN ACROSS PORTIONS OF THE WARNED AREA. ADDITIONAL RAINFALL AMOUNTS OF UP TO 2 INCHES CAN BE EXPECTED. THE AREA OF HEAVY RAIN WILL SLOWLY DRIFT SOUTH OVER THE NEXT SEVERAL HOURS INTO PORTIONS OF CENTRAL PRINCE GEORGES COUNTY.
