Former Pr. George’s Co. man added to FBI’s fugitive list

WASHINGTON – A former Prince George’s County man wanted for kidnapping his children and taking them to Tunisia was added to the FBI’s “Wanted Fugitives” list on Wednesday.

Less then a month after his divorce in 2011, Faical Chebbi picked up his two children, ages 6 and 3, from their maternal grandmother’s house in Prince George’s County for a court-allowed weekend visitation. That day, he took them to Dulles International Airport and flew with them to Tunisia, according to a FBI news release.

On Nov. 12, one day after he abducted the children, the 40 year old called his ex- wife in Fairfax County, Va. and told her where he had taken the children and that he would not return.

Court orders have demanded Chebbi return the children. He is also wanted on a federal warrant. On Wednesday, the FBI’s Washington field office added him to their fugitives list. He is wanted for international parental kidnapping.

Chebbi speaks fluent Arabic, English and French and is likely to visit Algeria, Libya, Egypt and France, says the FBI. While living in the D.C. area, Chebbi operated his own limo business called Airport Access. He is believed to be operating a similar business in Tunis, Tunisia, called Westwind Limosine.
