UMD campus police need help identifying robbery suspect

WASHINGTON — University of Maryland police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect they say robbed a man on campus on Thursday night.

The victim told police he was walking near Cecil Hall when two masked men approached him and demanded property from him, threatening with a knife.

Police did not say what the men stole.

After robbing the victim, the two men walked away. The victim was not injured.

The first suspect was described as a 6-foot black man of medium build with dreadlocks. He was wearing black ski pants, a black top and a face mask.

The second suspect was described as a 6-foot black man with a small to medium build, also wearing dark clothing and a face mask.

Police have obtained a video of one of the suspects and ask anyone with information about the crime to contact them at (301) 405-3555.
