Box office top 20: ’22 Jump Street’ collects $57M

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Sequels reigned supreme at the weekend box office. Sony’s buddy-cop comedy “22 Jump Street” debuted in the top spot with $57 million, followed closely by Fox’s animated adventure “How to Train Your Dragon 2,” which opened with $49.5 million.

The top 20 movies at U.S. and Canadian theaters Friday through Sunday, followed by distribution studio, gross, number of theater locations, average receipts per location, total gross and number of weeks in release, as compiled Monday by Rentrak, are:
