ARLINGTON, Va. — A stage became a friendly battleground Wednesday night at Leadership Arlington’s third annual “Arlington’s Got Talent” competition.

The talent show attracted performers from all around the region. Among them was comedian Cerrome Russell, who did a standup routine about the ups and downs of life with a wife and kids.

“Target is what ruins most relationships. I don’t know if you’ve ever lost your girlfriend or your wife in Target before, but you don’t even realize you’re dating a ninja until you get her in those aisles,” he said.

Aastha Paneru, a senior at Yorktown High School, is originally from Nepal and performed a Nepalese dance. Musician Nik Martin took the popular Echosmith song “Cool Kids” and performed his own rap over it.

A panel of four judges picked the winners.

Second runner-up, scoring a $100 prize, was the a cappella group Euphonism.

Travis Tucker, a singer and high school math teacher, was named first runner- up and won $200 prize.

The winner of the top prize of $500 was Sinatra-style singer-songwriter Teague de La Plaine.

The rest of the money raised from ticket sales will benefit Leadership Arlington’s scholarship fund.
