Bird sculpture stolen from artist’s yard in Md.

BALTIMORE (AP) — Police in Baltimore are investigating after a sculpture and sculpture materials were stolen from an artist’s yard.

Television station WJZ-TV (http://cbsloc.al/1u2YOgR ) reports a bird sculpture was taken from the yard of artist Jim Pollock in Hampden.

Pollock, who works mostly in metal, says a bird sculpture he made out of pickaxe heads was stolen along with raw materials for sculptures like plow heads and big gears.

Pollock says the bird sculpture weighed four hundred pounds and was worth $1,800, “so it didn’t just fly away.”
