Panthers DE Hardy’s court date moved to July 15

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — Panthers defensive end Greg Hardy’s court date on charges of assault on a female and communicating threats has been moved to July 15, according to his attorney Chris Fialko.

The bench trial for Hardy had been set for Friday.

The Pro Bowl defensive end faces up to 60 days in jail if convicted of the misdemeanor charges.

The woman, who alleges Hardy assaulted and threatened to kill her, said he “just snapped” after an argument about her short-lived relationship with rapper and Charlotte Hornets minority owner Nelly, according to previously released court documents.

She also alleges Hardy threw her on a couch full of guns. Hardy was ordered by a judge to turn over 10 guns to police last month.

The Panthers open training camp on July 25.
