NEW YORK (AP) — James Earl Jones is getting some help with his revival of “You Can’t Take It With You” — Emmy and Golden Globe nominee Rose Byrne and Tony Award nominee Annaleigh Ashford have jumped aboard.

Byrne (“Damages”) and Ashford (“Kinky Boots”) will play sisters in the show, which also will star Kristine Nielsen and Mark Linn-Baker. Previews will begin in August at the Longacre Theatre, with an official opening set for Sept. 28. Scott Ellis will direct.

The play, which won a Pulitzer Prize for writers Moss Hart and George S. Kaufman and initially ran for two years from 1936-38, was last revived on Broadway in 1983, starring Jason Robards and Colleen Dewhurst. Frank Capra directed a film version in 1938 starring Lionel Barrymore and James Stewart.
