Weekly Crime Report: Sept. 15 to Sept. 23

A break-in at a Bethesda church and a batch of home burglaries lead this week’s 2nd District crime summary:

A commercial burglary occurred at St. Dunstan’s Church, 5450 Massachusetts Avenue in Bethesda overnight between Thursday, 9/18 and Friday, 9/19. Forced entry; property taken.

A residential burglary occurred in the 6400 block of Stratford Road in Chevy Chase overnight between Thursday, 9/18 and Friday, 9/19. Property was taken from an unsecured garage.

A residential burglary occurred in the 8100 block of Rayburn Road in Bethesda on Thursday, 9/18 between 11:50 a.m. and 1:51 p.m. Unknown entry; property taken.

A residential burglary occurred in the 6900 block of Winterberry Lane in Bethesda sometime between 11:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Unknown entry; property taken.

A residential burglary occurred in the 2800 block of Terrace Drive in Chevy Chase on Monday, 9/22 between 7:15 p.m. and 7:40 p.m. Unknown entry; property taken.

An attempted residential burglary occurred in the 4600 block of Harling Lane in Bethesda on Saturday, 9/20. Attempted forced entry; nothing taken.

Suspect: Black male, 6′/185 lbs.; black male, 5’8″/185 lbs. 

A vehicle theft occurred in the 8200 block of Wisconsin Avenue in Bethesda on Saturday, 9/20 at 11:00 a.m.

An aggravated assault occurred in the 10300 block of Grosvenor Place in North Bethesda on Tuesday, 9/23 at 3:20 a.m. The suspect is known to the victim.

A residential burglary occurred in the 5300 block of Strathmore Avenue in Kensington on Thursday, 9/18 between 8:50 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. Forced entry; property taken.

A residential burglary occurred in the 5800 block of Linden Square Court in North Bethesda on Saturday, 9/30 between 12:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. Forced entry; property taken.

Eight thefts from vehicles occurred during this reporting period. Incidents occurred on Melwood Road, Temple Street, and Ridge Road in Bethesda overnight between Wednesday, 9/17 and Thursday, 9/18. Vehicles were left unsecured and items taken included cash, GPS units, and glasses.

A residential burglary occurred in the 7500 block of Spring Lake Drive in Bethesda sometime between Wednesday, 9/17 and Friday, 9/19. Forced entry; property taken.

A residential burglary occurred in the 10700 block of Stable Lane in Potomac on Monday, 9/22 between 9:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. Forced entry; property taken.
