A Bethesda gym and the gym coming to Pike & Rose in North Bethesda will be under the ownership of a new company soon.
US Fitness, a holding company formed in 2011 by the former owners of Gold’s Gym International, bought D.C. area chain Sport&Health — including its 4400 Montgomery Ave. location and facility set to open in December at Pike & Rose — for an undisclosed amount.
Media rep Nicole Davidow said all rates for members will stay the same, there are no changes planned in terms of membership and Sport&Health will keep its branding.
US Fitness also owns the Onelife Fitness brand and Crunch clubs in the Mid-Atlantic.
Sport&Health CEO Mark Fisher will be named the CEO of US Fitness, which is headed by brothers Kirk and John Galiani.
The Pike & Rose location will be Sport&Health’s 23rd club in the D.C. area. The McClean-based company started in 1973.
“Sport & Health provides us with a broad platform in a major metropolitan area, an experienced management team, and infrastructure to accelerate our growth through Greenfield expansion and acquisition,” said Kirk and John Galiani in a press release. “We look forward to working with Mark Fisher, Scott Thomas and the entire Sport & Health team in continuing to build a terrific company.”
