Police Got New Armored Vehicle In July – Montgomery County Police received a new armored vehicle last month as part of the Defense Department’s surplus program. According to a department bulletin, the “life-safety vehicle” is being shared by police and MCFRS and is not armed. The department has two other armored vehicles, though on Wednesday it didn’t respond to questions about the equipment. The militarization of local police departments has become a prominent storyline in the wake of the police shooting of an unarmed black man in Ferguson, Mo. Jaleo Bethesda Offering Unlimited Paella – Starting Monday, Jaleo Bethesda (7271 Woodmont Ave.) will offer unlimited chicken and mushroom or vegetarian paella for $25. Unlimited sangria will be another $15 and the restaurant is offering four paella classes for $75. [Eater DC]

Bethesda Home Sale Prices Down Slightly – There were 114 homes sold in July in Bethesda at a median sale price of $828,750, according to numbers provided by real estate brokerage Redfin. The number of homes sold is down 16 percent from July 2013 and the median sale slipped slightly (1.6 percent) from July of last year. Those homes were on the market for a median of 8.5 days, compared to 18 median days on market for the entire D.C. Metro area. [Redfin Real Estate Market Update]
