State And County Point Fingers Over Voter Registration Mishaps – As many as a few hundred Montgomery County voters had their party affiliations incorrectly altered ahead of June’s gubernatorial primary. Local officials said it happened because of a glitch at the state’s Motor Vehicle Administration. State officials said it happened because the county failed to properly process the applications. After Delay, Capital Bikeshare Gets New Keys – Capital Bikeshare this week has finally been able to deliver new Bikeshare keys out to customers. The vendor was unable to get new keys for much of the summer because its supplier’s bankruptcy. The new key is more resilient to wear and tear, Bikeshare said in an email to members on Thursday.
Friends of White Flint To Talk Pedestrian Safety – Friends of White Flint will talk pedestrian and bicyclist safety in its next meeting, set for Sept. 3. The group, made up of residents, business owners and developers, is looking for short-term fixes that could make walking and biking in the area more safe. Last weekend, a Bethesda man died after being hit by a car while crossing Rockville Pike at Executive Boulevard. Last month, a 10-year-old bicyclist was hit by a car while crossing at a crosswalk.
