Memory Lane: Teens Steal Draft Cards To Buy Beer – In 1951, the FBI and Montgomery County Police arrested two Chevy Chase teenagers for breaking in to the Bethesda Selective Service office to steal a typewriter and abotu 100 blank registration cards. The FBI said the boys were selling the draft board cards for $1 to $3 to other boys. When made out to show the owner’s age older than 18, police said the cards were often used to buy beer in D.C.
