Weekly Crime Report: May 19 to May 27

Police arrested the 14-year-old student involved in this stabbing at Walter Johnson High School for aggravated assault. The department also reported another batch of commercial burglaries in downtown Bethesda:

A commercial burglary occurred in two offices located at 8120 Woodmont Avenue in Bethesda between Thursday, 5/22 and Friday, 5/23. Entry was forced in one event; laptops and an iPad mini were taken.

A commercial burglary occurred at Chinese Herbology, 8218 Wisconsin Avenue in Bethesda between Thursday, 5/22 and Saturday, 5/24. Forced entry; property taken.

A commercial burglary occurred at the Tako Grill, 7756 Wisconsin Avenue in Bethesda, between Friday, 5/23 and Saturday, 5/24. No forced entry; property taken.

A commercial burglary occurred at Alley Cat Allies, 7920 Norfolk Avenue in Bethesda on Friday, 5/23 at an unknown time. No further information is available at this time.

A residential burglary occurred in the 8800 block of Spring Valley Road in Chevy Chase on Tuesday, 5/27 between 7 a.m. and 2 p.m. Forced entry; property taken.

A residential burglary occurred in the 10800 block of Symphony Park Drive in Bethesda overnight between Monday, 5/26 and Tuesday, 5/27. No further information is available at this time.

Vehicle-related thefts occurred at the Harris Teeter, 11845 Old Georgetown Road in Bethesda and the Marriott Hotel parking lot, 5701 Marinelli Road in Bethesda during this reporting frame. Two vehicles in each lot were found with forced entry and loose items inside were stolen when available. Those at the Marriott occurred on Thursday, 5/22 while the events at Harris Teeter occurred on Saturday, 5/24.

A residential burglary occurred on Wednesday, 5/21 between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. in the 4900 block of Dorset Avenue in Somerset. Forced entry; nothing taken.

Two thefts from vehicles occurred overnight between Thursday, 5/22 and Friday, 5/23. Vehicles on Beech Avenue and Conway Road in Bethesda were searched and binoculars, sunglasses, and a GPS unit was taken.

A burglary occurred at St. Luke’s Church, 10660 River Road in Potomac between Thursday, 5/22 and Saturday, 5/24. Forced entry; property taken.
