Weekly Crime Report: May 5 to May 13

Another series of commercial burglaries were reported earlier this month in downtown Bethesda:

A commercial burglary occurred in the 4300 block of Montgomery Avenue in Bethesda on Tuesday, 5/6 at 11:00 p.m. Forced entry; nothing taken.

A commercial burglary occurred in the 8300 block of Wisconsin Avenue in Bethesda overnight between Wednesday, 5/7 and Thursday, 5/8. No forced entry; property taken.

A commercial burglary occurred in the 7100 block of Wisconsin Avenue in Bethesda overnight between Wednesday, 5/7 and Thursday, 5/8. Forced entry; property taken.

The 4300 block of Montgomery Avenue burglary comes in a section of town where police said four office burglaries happened in four days in early April. A police spokesperson said the department doesn’t disclose items taken or how forced entry was made.

A residential burglary occurred in the 2900 block of Daniel Road in Chevy Chase on Tuesday, 5/6 just after 1:00 p.m. Forced entry; nothing taken.

A theft occurred in the 7400 block of Bybrook Lane in Chevy Chase sometime during the day on Tuesday, 5/6. Another occurred in the 7500 block of Bybrook Lane in Chevy Chase between 5/5 and 5/8. Property was taken from the outside of both residences.

A residential burglary occurred in the 5900 block of Rossmore Drive in Bethesda on Monday, 5/12 at approximately 1:00 p.m. Attempted forced entry; nothing taken.

Suspect: Unk/F (olive skin), 40-50, 5’4″/200 lbs., long black hair; foreign accent; Unk/M (driver)

A sexual assault occurred in the 11800 block of Old Georgetown Road in Bethesda on Wednesday, 5/7 at approximately 3:30 p.m. The suspect is known to the victim.

A sexual assault occurred in the 7900 block of Jensen Place in Bethesda on Saturday, 5/10 at approximately 12:30 p.m. The suspect is known to the victim.

A residential burglary occurred in the 8100 block of Whittier Boulevard in Bethesda on Thursday, 5/8 between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Forced entry; property taken.

Two thefts from vehicles occurred in the 7100 block of Democracy Boulevard in Bethesda on Tuesday, 5/6 between 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. Entry was forced. Cash, purses, and an iPad were taken.
