A batch of new renderings show how a nine-story condo building on the north end of downtown Bethesda will fit into Woodmont Triangle.
The renderings, first reported by blogger Robert Dyer, show how developer Duball hopes its 46-unit Woodmont View will look when completed at the corner of Battery Lane and Woodmont Avenue.
Groundbreaking is set for late 2014 and will bring another dramatic change to the intersection. The existing four-story office building will be torn down. It’s now home to the Hope Floats Wellness Spa and is being used as a satellite office for Donohoe Construction, which is building the 8300 Wisconsin project across Woodmont Avenue.
The 50,000-square-foot Harris Teeter grocery store coming to 8300 Wisconsin is a selling point for the Duball project. So is 3,000-square-feet of ground-floor retail space (likely to be a restaurant) and “soaring views of downtown Bethesda, the NIH campus, Army-Navy Medical Center and Greater Montgomery County.”
Woodmont View will have only 60 feet of frontage on Battery Lane. It will back up to the residential building part of the Children’s Inn at NIH already on the site.
Condo sales will start after groundbreaking. Construction is slated to finish in 2016.
