Capital Bikeshare on Tuesday opened a 12-dock station in one of downtown Bethesda’s busiest spots.
Bikeshare users will now be able to access the system at Bethesda Metro Center, on Wisconsin Avenue near Old Georgetown Road and the Hyatt Regency hotel. The docks are up against the stairs and escalator that lead down to the bus-bay level of the Bethesda Metro station.
That makes 12 Capital Bikeshare stations in Bethesda and two in Chevy Chase.
Bikeshare officials were originally planning for a 19-dock station at the spot, what might end up being the most used station in Bethesda because of its proximity to the Metro station.
