DEVELOPING: Gas Leak In Downtown Bethesda

Police and MCFRS are shutting down the area around Wisconsin Avenue and Miller Avenue after a gas line was struck by a contractor.

According to scanner traffic, one worker was overcome by gas fumes that is leaking form a 1.5-inch line.

Police and MCFRS units are evacuating all buildings in the area and closing much of the area to traffic. Be sure to avoid Wisconsin Avenue south of Bethesda Avenue for the near future.
