Montgomery County Police on Wednesday announced they have identified one suspect and are looking for the second involved in a rare Bethesda home invasion last November.
Police said that on Dec. 18, eight days after the department released surveillance video of the two suspects, they got an anonymous Crime Solvers tip pegging Gary J. Lee-Thomas, 29, of Prince George’s County as one of the two in the video.
On Dec. 23, police got an arrest warrant charging Lee-Thomas with three counts of first degree assault, three counts of second degree assault, one count of armed robbery and one count of using a firearm in the commission of a violent felony. On Jan. 1, Lee-Thomas was arrested in D.C. on unrelated charges and is currently being held there until a trial.
Police said his Montgomery County arrest warrant will be served when he’s released.
In the afternoon of Nov. 25, police said Lee-Thomas and a still unidentified suspect walked up to a homeowner in the 10500 block of Farnham Drive, forced her into her house and put her and her husband at gunpoint.
Once inside, the two suspects stole property, police said. A small child was also in the house during the robbery. No one was hurt. After leaving the home, police said the suspects stole the victim’s gold Cadillac Escalade, which they abandoned within the hour at the nearby intersection of Berkshire Drive and Yorkshire Terrace.
The surveillance video was taken from an office building in the area of the robbery, police said.
Police are still looking to identify the second suspect. In the video, Lee-Thomas is the taller man with a beard.
Police are also asking for the anonymous tipster who identified Lee-Thomas to contact Crime Solvers again in order to claim his or her reward money.

Crime Solvers will pay a cash reward of up to $10,000 for information provided to them that leads to an arrest and/or indictment for this felony crime. Tipsters will remain anonymous.
